Ritual Objects
Medium
Air-dry clay, acrylic sheets, wood
Date
2025
Size
40 x 40 x 40
This sculptural installation presents a collection of hand-moulded clay forms, inspired from artist's own vibrator in dialogue with the matriarchal symbols of ancient Anatolian heritage, encased within a transparent acrylic cube atop a domestic wooden table. Ritual Objects draws from both intimate and anthropological registers, positioning instruments of pleasure as sacred artefacts. By casting these objects in fragile, matte clay and arranging them in a museological display, the work challenges the boundaries between private ritual and public archive. It proposes a speculative history where female desire, care, and embodiment are preserved, not erased, framed not as taboo, but as testimony.
