2025

232 x 152 x 180 cm

'The Weight of Softness' holds a body suspended as if in quiet punishment.

Hung from the neck, the figure remains between restraint and collapse. It does not fall, yet it is not held gently. The body is kept there; contained, fixed, unable to release its weight.

Its form swells, overfilled, pressing outward. Softness accumulates until it begins to distort.

From the lower body, red thread spills downward, escaping control. It gathers on a Turkish rug below, returning the body to a space it cannot leave, even in suspension.

The surface is marked by repeated intervention; stitched, strained, reopened. Not repair, but persistence.

Here, softness is not comfort. It is a condition. Something that holds, absorbs, and continues, even when it begins to resemble its own form of punishment.
